Parking

We can’t wait to welcome you to the historic Art Theatre! Because our beautiful building has been standing since 1924, we do not have a dedicated private parking lot.
We know that navigating the bustling Retro Row neighborhood can sometimes feel like a cinematic adventure of its own. To help ensure a smooth arrival, we’ve put together a guide to your best parking and transit options.
A Quick Tip from Our Staff: We recommend giving yourself a 20-minute buffer before your showtime just to secure parking. This ensures you have plenty of time to stroll over, grab some of our famous popcorn, and find your seat before the lights dim.

Public Parking Lot (Highly Recommended)

Your best and most reliable option is the 4th & Cherry Public Lot.
  • Location: Located right across the street on the southeast corner of 4th Street and Cherry Avenue.
  • Details: This is a paid lot that accepts only  credit cards. It’s well-lit and less than a one-minute walk to our front doors.
Important Towing Warning: Please do not park in the lot directly behind the theater and adjacent liquor store. Those spaces are strictly reserved for neighboring businesses, and unauthorized vehicles are frequently towed. The Center parking lot behind the Theatre allows parking during select times during the week and on weekends. Please read the signs thoroughly!

Street Parking

There is street parking available throughout the neighborhood, but it fills up fast—especially on Friday and Saturday evenings.
  • 4th Street: You will find a mix of metered and unmetered street parking right in front of the theater and along the Retro Row corridor.
  • Residential Streets: You can often find spots on nearby cross streets like Cherry Ave, Junipero Ave, and 3rd Street.
  • Read the Signs: Long Beach parking enforcement is notoriously efficient! Please check all posted street sweeping and residential permit signs carefully before leaving your vehicle.

Rideshare & Public Transit

Want to skip the parking hunt entirely? We highly recommend rolling up to the theater via alternative transit!
  • Rideshare: Use our address (2025 E 4th St, Long Beach) for a drop-off. There is plenty of easy curb space out front.
  • The Circuit Shuttle: If you are coming from Downtown Long Beach, you can catch the 100% electric, free Circuit shuttle, which services our neighborhood.
  • Long Beach Transit: The 151 bus runs directly along 4th Street, while the 21 and 22 buses run north/south right around the corner on Cherry Avenue.
